My favorite of the PM plugins! Lives on my mixbus and I mix into it. The box tone, EQ, and compressor are some of the best I've ever used!

This is on every one of my mixes for that analog goodness. Best plugin for the mixbus and is an instant classic. These guys know their stuff when it comes to sound.

Insane how great this channel strip is and how effective it is compared to the usual suspects. A no brainer purchase as soon as I heard it.

Great on the 2-bus, even better with one on each instrument bus for instant depth!

This has been on my 2 bus since the day I demoed it and bought it. I'm not sure what magic is under the hood but it's the most 3-D plugin I've ever had for the 2 bus. Just epic! If I had to choose just 10 plugins to mix with, this would be in the top 5 for sure!

A truly fantastic channel that can oozes mojo, and can bring bags of presence to your tracks. The EQ is the icing on the cake!

Built for bus duties, this sidecar has some smooth filters and familiar-sounding EQ. I think it sounds best when used subtly, but you can push the compressor pretty hard before it breaks up. Also works as a set-and-forget tone-box!

Let’s start with the EQ.
Having owned the analog version of this EQ, I was genuinely surprised at how good this emulation sounds. I often use just the EQ because of the way it effortlessly pushes certain elements forward in a mix—it has that unmistakable character.
But that’s only part of the story. The rest of this plugin is an absolute vibe machine. I’m usually not a preset person—they rarely fit the way I work—but these presets are among the best I’ve ever used. Drag, drop, and you’re in business.
This lives on my bass guitar chain—always. On drums, it’s disgustingly good as an insert to add punch or vibe, and it shines on parallel tracks when you really smash it. I’ve even used it subtly on a couple of masters that just needed a little extra character.
And to top it off, the CPU load is impressively light, so I can throw it on as many tracks as I want without worry.

I'm really enjoying the sidecar. It is a great colour box. Nice bus compressor, and the EQ has a great character too. The summing emulations are fairly subtle, but also nice.

The Sidecar EQ is also rather unusual. It particularly impresses with a finely drawn soundstage, which also has a spatial (3D) effect. It's always on my master bus now.

This plugin really adds thickness to the sound.
The 8-channel summing creates a nice, wide image—especially when paired with the Wide control set to max. If you’re after a narrower sound, switching to 2-track summing and setting the Wide control to the middle position or off gives you great flexibility.
The API-style EQ and filters sound excellent, and it’s great to have them available separately in the P450 plugin for use on individual tracks.
The A/D converter, op-amp, and compressor all offer useful options for shaping the tone.
The Bias knob is especially handy for adjusting the overall character and intensity of the plugin’s effect.

Before this Plugin came out I was about to spend thousands of dollars on outboard gear just to get Analog Summing in my workflow.

After hearing how great the P455 was I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed.

On top of sounding awesome and doing what exactly what I wanted you get the benefits of it being a plugin. Throw it all over your project, where two tracks or more are gathered, throw them through the Sidecar! It accomplishes what would be hours of work in the analog world, which allows way more time and freedom to experiment and make useful changes to your mix.

The Pulsar Modular P455 MDN Sidecar is a unique and inspiring summing plugin that can add a lot of analog gooey to your mixes. If you're a singer-songwriter guitarist looking to add some unique analog elements to your tracks, I highly recommend checking it out. It's a great tool for adding that extra something to your music and taking it beyond traditional mixing techniques. I predominantly use Sidecar for its 8-channel analog summing on the Main Bus for its sonic character and also stereo imaging capabilities.

Quick and easy Channel Strip with lots of flavour. Really enjoy gluing busses with it, and the depth and width it adds is nothing short of excellent. My favourite Pulsar Modular plugin.

Instant wow-factor, depth and space when applied on the master bus, even without going into more advanced controls/use.

Wow, this summing system plugin is not hype at all; it really does it.

I have been trying and using a lot of summing mixers over the years, and I know how summing sounds, The P455 shines as an individual "hardware type" summing mixer. I don't know how this has been done in software, but it really shockingly does it. Now, I can place this on a mix and stay ITB without the need of going out of the box for summing.
the EQ is wonderful. The compressor is GREAT—just that perfect glue, Magic. The Bias section—MAGIC.

P455 Sidecar adds a little dimension as soon as you strap it across a buss. You can tweak a little or really dive in to sculpt the sound. From a workflow perspective it does the job of 4 or 5 plugins and allows you to move quickly through a mix.

I don't know the technical details, but this plug-in allows you to feel the characteristics of analog hardware.
I feel that the BIAS knob and the compressor section are especially good for the workflow of creating sounds.
The BIAS knob is not just a WET/DRY knob, and I get the impression that it can be used in conjunction with the Input knob to arbitrarily adjust the characteristics of the P455's analog hardware.
I appreciate the compressor section after making various adjustments.
There are many parameters that are not obvious at first sight, so I recommend reading the manual and doing a demo.
The manual also contains tips and tricks, which will be a good stimulus for your production.

THIS is the sound of an API - that woody thickness was immediatly recognisable with the smile on my face. as for the SIDECAR - it puts the deep juicy dark bottom of an expensive set up in my DAW, truly remarkable what this can do.

I just heard my film score on a dub stage. All the cues ran through P455 on my mix buss. Added the perfect amount of weight, clarity and presence that everyone commented on. Dub stage mixers and director were all pleased. Grateful for this plugin!

P455 is yet another great edition to Pulsars collection. Nice bonus having the EQ on it's own. Sidecar is one of those tools that makes everything sound better. Once it's on you never want it off. It's a great bus solution for pulling everything together. Well done guys.

I was so impressed with P455 that I not only bought it for myself, I bought it for a friend!

After trying p455 on the 2 bus with the trial version, I had an epiphany. The mixdown already sounded great before, so I wasn’t trying to fix anything. Yet, when I started with the preset “sounds like a record” and did a few minor adjustments, it sounded bigger somehow. Width without messing up the midrange! Even subtle blending with parallel processing did a major shift in the warmth of the mix. You can do extreme things with this and you can also do minor adjustments. Either way, I will say I have no other plugins that will get me this particular “sound.” It’s a specific kind of sound and I dig it. Simultaneously softens some of the harshness that builds up over multiple tracks, yet can enable a velvet punchiness that breathes like an analog record often does. Thank you Marc and Ziad and the rest of Pulsar, these are great times to be a ITB producer/musician.

I'm thrilled with the P455 and the P450 plugin, because it offers me so many possibilities to shape the sound and in an absolutely convincing quality.

The P455 and P450 have been a gem in my toolbox going on 7+ months now. Tracks, Buss's, Sub-mix's - It is a mainstay and finds its way on every project. When Mastering, many times just adding it to the chain, the P455 can add that extra 5% that brings a track or project to the finish line. I own most all of PM's creations. This one is truly like hardware-software. Unique!

I don't own any actual API hardware but am familiar with that magic sound from tracking and mixing in studios. This plugin nails it and has eliminated my frequent gear-purveyors searches for bargains. Just running audio through the default setting gives me "that sound," lending clarity, depth, and firmness to tracks, busses, mixbus...wherever I use it! Great job!

It feels like this plugin has added glue to both my mixes and my mixing workflow. I think I'm using fewer plugins on individual channels because the Sidecar is on each of my sub-busses. Loving the depth and separation/cohesion that's in there especially when I find a sweet spot with input level combined with bias adjustments.

This plugin has the ability to add real analog dimension and depth to source material. I love it on subgroups and masterbus.

What keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating is my preference for more visual feedback and the relatively steep learning curve to learn what many of the controls do. The manual is helpful and the sound speaks for itself.

Sidecar has became my GOTO main sub music bus all in one solution: before hitting the sub mix it adds depth, warmth and control by gluing all together and never sounding hard or fake or "digital". It is a must have!

P455 has become an essential plug-in for my Master Bus processing.

There is nothing not to like about this Plug-in. Simple, intuitive and adds that last 5% to my mix.

I have a multitude of plugins and I have become pretty adept at quite a few of them. I'm a composer/producer where sound and mix is as important to me as the musical composition. After demoing P455 Sidecar on a track that contained quite a bit of synthesized instruments, I was blown away with the sound on my mix bus. It was subtle but yet gave me "that" sound. The mix became balanced and present. I never had the pleasure of working on an API board (although I have many API plugin emulations), but if this software is anywhere close to that sound; I've missed out!
The concept behind this is brilliant. It is kind of a steep price, however, if your music is important to you, it is a rather small investment to your craft and possibly livelihood- no matter how many alternative processing plugins you own.

It's lovely. I wasn't sure if MDN's signature sound would work with my stuff (I do extreme metal - death metal, black metal, etc.) It does! I love the new features from the latest update. Getting that center back by turning off the Stage Focus is perfect for my taste. This plugin has ended my hunt for some ITB analog mojo. The standalone EQ is a huge bonus. Using it on snare and vocals is a lot of fun.

Not only is this an outstanding plug-in in terms of its feature set, versatility, ease-of-use, and outstanding GUI - but the developer has also actively listened to user feedback and attempted to implement features that reflect how the user base is using and responding to this plugin. My first Pulsar Modular purchase - definitely not my last!

Absolutely killer. The first plugin I've heard that's got the API comp right - organic, punchy low end weight for days. Really impressive work - highly recommended.

First off, love MDN, he is such a great mixer and we’re so lucky to have his teachings available (for free) on YT…his lessons have done more for my mixes than any others! As soon as I heard about this, didn’t bother demoing, just pulled the trigger…it’s the least I could do to support someone who’s been so gracious in sharing his skills with us at no charge.

So far I’ve had the 455 on the 2bus, group busses and lead…killer in all instances! Also put the 450 on almost all tracks, loving it even when just using to HPF or LPF…really so great sounding. And the bias on both is incredibly handy! (Highly recommend reading the manual, so many good tips on using it.)

Honestly, I seriously would recommend this for plugin of the year, maybe the decade! This plugin removes the need for so many others and does it so well.

The only thing I’d like to see is the option to take the ADC out of the chain on the 455. I have a Burl ADC and would like to A/B this with and without it in the plug. Other than that, perfect…thanks Marc and Ziad, what a gem!

This plugin is simply superb. I tested it on a current album I am producing, and as the demo ran out couldn't fathom finishing this project without it. I spent hours comparing it to the best of the top brand plugins I already own, trying to replicate the settings and sounds, then did blind A/B comparisons - some were close and sounded perfectly fine and professional, yet each time the P455 came on, the clarity, transparency and depth just mesmerized my ears. It's really brilliant design & code... Thank you for creating such another marvelous plugin for producers and music makers.

It feels awkward to use words like "delightful" to describe a plugin, but this one fits the bill. Every button or knob adds something, however subtle, to the audio you're applying it to, in a way that makes you smile a little. The sidecar sounds incredible, and offers endless tone shaping options, and the EQ, as simple as it is, always sounds pleasant, and adds something. It is seemingly impossible to make this sound bad. Very musical plugin. Quite effective at creating instrument separation, depth, width and giving a touch of sparkle making your music immediately sounding more like a record in an effortless way. All of this with a very intuitive interface. I didn’t want to buy another plugin but I pulled the trigger after being impressed with the demo and with intro and loyalty discounts. If you’re skeptical about the hype like I was, don’t be, just demo the plugin and see for yourself. It’s a rather unique processor, not just another channel strip with harmonics.

The more I use this and become acclimated with the fine things it makes possible with sound, the more I see this as a "One small step for man, one giant leap..." kind of thing. I've said a few times that one plugin or another was my favorite of pick a year, but this - speaking only for myself and your mileage may vary - is changing how I feel about mixing. This plugin has affected me in a positive way more than any other plugin I have ever used.

I'm an old fart. But when I get in this sidecar I'm a kid again with the wind blowing through my hair, a big smile on my face, and bugs in my teeth. Mixing just became fun again.

Feels like putting on my reading glasses. Everything pops into HD and 3D. A very elegant sounding plugin. Smooth yet full on flavour. When I bypass all the instances, my mix just loses "something" that I can't fully describe in words. It's like finding the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle. Finally the picture is complete. I promised myself...no more plugins. And then you release this masterpiece. I have never heard such clarity and depth in audio. Each component of the mix remains separate and distinct while the mix itself remains in perfect balance. I have been searching for this elusive "glue" for decades and you have nailed it!
My Dad had an old tube Hi-Fi amplifier that he built. Its 3D sound and forward characteristics always sounded so much better than the current Hi-Fi amps that I grew up with. I thought I would never hear that wonderful sound again. P455 MDN Sidecar instantly brings back those fond memories of my dad's old tube amp.
