P410 JOYRIDE
Ten inductor-style bands. Proportional Q you set yourself. Scales that follow the key of the song.
Graphic EQs stayed useful and rigid for decades: fixed points, fixed bandwidth, fine for a live rack and too coarse for a master. Joyride was built to reinvent the format. Each band models an LC resonant circuit rather than the usual RC network, which gives it the smooth, weighty tone of vintage passive equalizers, and around the ten sliders sit variable proportional Q, musical band layouts, six drive engines and two bias stages.

Most graphic EQs treat frequencies as fixed technical points. Joyride treats them as musical intervals.
Every band has its own Qmin and Qmax, so you decide how broad it stays on small moves and how narrow it becomes when pushed; set the two equal and the band behaves like a classic fixed-Q design. Q-Link ties bands together, EQ MULT scales the whole curve from −50 to +50 percent without changing its shape, and EQ FLIP mirrors it over the 0 dB axis. MATRIX processes stereo, left, right, mid or side per instance and keeps the rest audible in context.
Ahead of the EQ sit six drive engines in series, from D1 Foundation to D6 Air, that together behave like a modular input transformer. VOICE tilts the whole EQ from laid-back to forward, VOICE BIAS adds odd harmonics before the bands and EQ BIAS adds odd and even harmonics after them, both with automatic gain compensation. The chain runs TRIM IN, DRIVE, VOICE, VOICE BIAS, the ten bands, EQ BIAS, MAIN OUT, TRIM OUT.

P410 JOYRIDE

Graphic Equalizer waren jahrzehntelang nützlich und starr: feste Frequenzen, feste Bandbreite, gut fürs Live-Rack und zu grob fürs Master. Joyride wurde gebaut, um das Format neu zu erfinden. Jedes Band modelliert einen LC-Resonanzkreis statt des üblichen RC-Netzwerks, was ihm den weichen, gewichtigen Ton passiver Vintage-Equalizer gibt, und um die zehn Fader herum sitzen variables Proportional-Q, musikalische Bandlayouts, sechs Drive-Engines und zwei Bias-Stufen.

Die meisten Graphic Equalizer behandeln Frequenzen als feste technische Punkte. Joyride behandelt sie als musikalische Intervalle.
Jedes Band hat ein eigenes Qmin und Qmax. Sie bestimmen also, wie breit es bei kleinen Eingriffen bleibt und wie schmal es wird, wenn Sie kräftiger anheben oder absenken; sind beide Werte gleich, verhält sich das Band wie ein klassisches Design mit festem Q. Q-Link koppelt Bänder aneinander, EQ MULT skaliert die ganze Kurve von −50 bis +50 Prozent, ohne ihre Form zu verändern, und EQ FLIP spiegelt sie an der 0-dB-Achse. MATRIX bearbeitet pro Instanz Stereo, links, rechts, Mid oder Side und lässt den Rest im Zusammenhang hörbar.
Vor dem EQ sitzen sechs Drive-Engines in Reihe, von D1 Foundation bis D6 Air, die zusammen wie ein modularer Eingangsübertrager arbeiten. VOICE neigt den ganzen EQ von zurückhaltend bis präsent, VOICE BIAS fügt vor den Bändern ungerade Obertöne hinzu und EQ BIAS danach ungerade und gerade, beide mit automatischem Pegelausgleich. Die Kette läuft TRIM IN, DRIVE, VOICE, VOICE BIAS, die zehn Bänder, EQ BIAS, MAIN OUT, TRIM OUT.

多くのグラフィックEQは、周波数を固定された技術上の点として扱います。Joyrideはそれを音楽的な音程として扱います。
各バンドには固有のQminとQmaxがあります。小さな操作ではどれだけ広く保つか、強くブーストやカットしたときにどれだけ狭くなるかを、自分で決められます。2つを同じ値にすれば、従来の固定Qのバンドとして振る舞います。Q-Linkはバンドどうしを連動させ、EQ MULTはカーブの形を変えずに全体を−50〜+50%でスケーリングし、EQ FLIPは0 dB軸を境にカーブを反転します。MATRIXはインスタンスごとにステレオ、L、R、Mid、Sideのいずれかを処理し、残りは文脈の中でそのまま聞こえます。
EQの手前には、D1 FoundationからD6 Airまで6つのドライブエンジンが直列に並び、全体としてモジュラー式の入力トランスのように働きます。VOICEはEQ全体を落ち着いた側から前に出る側へ傾け、VOICE BIASはバンドの前で奇数次倍音を、EQ BIASはバンドの後で奇数次と偶数次の倍音を加えます。どちらも自動ゲイン補正付きです。信号はTRIM IN、DRIVE、VOICE、VOICE BIAS、10バンド、EQ BIAS、MAIN OUT、TRIM OUTの順に流れます。
